Earth energy flows through the landscape like invisible rivers, above and below the ground this subtle energy meanders through our daily lives. Straight alignments of ancient man-made structures on the surface often identify the presence of an energy flow – these straight alignments are known as ley lines. Earth energy lines are not straight, although they do possess energy radials that spread from power centres like the spokes of a bicycle wheel and these can travel in straight lines for miles.

Earth energy is what is known as a subtle energy. This means it operates at a very fine level which for most of us is invisible and remains imperceptible to our normal senses. There are people that do have the ability to see this flow of energy and it is sometimes visible around standing stones where it behaves like smoke rising in a vortex like flow. This is something that’s been known since very ancient times and it's likely that the Ancients, who were so much more attuned to Nature, would have been able to see these subtle energies.
